The Commonwealth and Immigration Ombudsman, Mr Colin Neave, today released a report titled: Suicide and Self-harm in the Immigration Detention Network.

“The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (the department) has accepted all of the recommendations in the report, either in full or in principle. The Ombudsman will monitor the implementation of the recommendations.” Mr Neave said.

Mr Neave acknowledges the willingness of the department and its service providers to work with the Ombudsman to improve the wellbeing of people in immigration detention.
