Pacific Island Network of Ombudsmen

International program activities have grown over the past two years. This has included professional exchanges that share skills, experience and knowledge with neighbouring Ombudsman’s offices in the Asia-Pacific Region. The Commonwealth Ombudsman is actively involved in the development of a Pacific island network of ombudsman that is self-supporting and ultimately self-sustaining. Present establishment activities are funded through the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). Ombudsman offices with varying levels of participation in this network include:

  • Vanuatu
  • Tonga
  • Solomon Islands
  • Samoa
  • Queensland State Ombudsman
  • Papua New Guinea
  • New Zealand Ombudsmen
  • New South Wales State Ombudsman
  • Fiji
  • Cook Islands
